1. Never submerge the unit: The pump is purely electrical and must stay completely dry outside the tank.

3. No lubrication needed: Do not apply oil or grease to the internal mechanism at any time. 
4. Regularly clean accessories: Wipe down or replace your air stones and airline tubing over time to keep backpressure low and airflow high.
