Platinum Aqua Soil (1L) is a premium, nutrient-rich aquarium substrate made from natural Japanese volcanic soil. It is specially processed up to 500°C to create firm, porous pellets that do not turn into mud. This substrate is highly recommended for freshwater planted aquariums, nano aquascapes, and shrimp breeding setups.
Key Features and Benefits
  • Optimises Water Chemistry: Naturally lowers and buffers pH levels to a slightly acidic range (around 5.1 – 5.5) and reduces KH, creating an ideal soft water habitat.
  • Rich Plant Nutrition: Packed with essential lava minerals and nutrients to support robust root development and vibrant plant growth.
  • Crystal Clear Water: Acts as a natural water conditioner, rapidly absorbing impurities and removing water cloudiness.
  • Biological Filtration: The highly porous structure offers a massive surface area that encourages beneficial aerobic bacteria colonization.
  • Shrimp Friendly: Its natural matt texture and dark appearance provide an excellent environment for freshwater shrimp breeding.
How to Use
  1. Do Not Rinse: Pour the substrate directly into an empty, dry aquarium tank. Washing it will break down the nutrient-dense pellets.
  2. Complete Substrate: You do not need to cap it with gravel or sand. It works perfectly as a standalone layer.
  3. Fill Water Slowly: Place a plastic sheet or saucer over the soil and pour water gently to avoid disturbing the layout.
  4. Initial Setup: Slight cloudiness may occur initially but will clear up within 1 to 2 hours of running your aquarium filter.
